Worldwide NET Cancer Awareness Day Updates

With less than five months until the second Worldwide NET Cancer Awareness Day on Thursday, November 10, 2011, there have been many exciting developments to share with the carcinoid and NET community.

The first Chinese NET website (www.net.org.tw) was launched by the Hope Society for Cancer Care in Taiwan on June 14th. Featured on the site is Prince Star, a renowned Taiwanese astrologer, who is also a NET cancer survivor.  Diagnosed in 2006 he spent 10 days in a coma and in order to save his life, surgeons amputated his left leg.  In the YouTube video on the website, Prince Star talks about his treatment and experience with NET cancer.  His mission now is to help bring about greater awareness of NETs.  Significant press coverage about the launch of the site resulted in more than 50 news clippings from print, online, and broadcast media.

Just amazing to see all this information and support. Gives so much hope. There was hardly anything that I as a lay person could find on the web 2+ years ago regarding info NETs.

  2. Thanks for reminding about cancer awareness day… Hoping that all cancer patients would still believe and will fight for survival.
